William Payne, 54, of Pepper Place, Kesgrave, pleaded not guilty to four charges including assaulting a male aged 13 or over by penetration when he appeared at Ipswich Crown Court.
Other charges included abusing a position of trust - sexual activity with a boy aged 13-17 and two counts of sexual assault on a male.
The offences are alleged to have taken place at Warren Hill prison.
A five-day trial will start at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday April 12. Payne was released on unconditional bail.
