Four local businesses got together for a photo shoot to promote Suffolk-based ethical clothing company Where Does It Come From?

And they chose Felixstowe as the backdrop – the beach, port and Mannings Amusements – for their fashion shoot.

Jo Salter, founder of the Ipswich-based clothing company, said she was looking for great images to promote the firm’s fully traceable clothes and accessories.

She said: “Felixstowe has so much going for it. We decided to hold the shoot in Felixstowe - showcasing the docks, the beach huts and Mannings Amusement Arcade. “There are so many attractions in Felixstowe and we felt that these three showed the fun, beauty and also the working side of the town.

“We were extremely lucky with the weather - the sun shone all day.

“The photos are fantastic - it goes to prove that collaboration between businesses can achieve amazing results,” she added.

Jo Salter of Where Does It Come From? provided organic cotton shirts and scarves for the photo shoot. The others taking part included Clare Swann of Cherry Pie Makeovers, who handled hair and make-up, Magda Snowden of Madge Hatter, who styled the shoot and provided hair accessories, and James Mesher of Mesher Photos who took the pictures.

Jo explained the photos would be used on the company’s website and supplied to newspapers and magazines to be used in coverage of the fully traceable clothes and products that are sold by Where Does It Come From? and sourced from India.

Where Does It Come? was started by Jo Salter in 2013 and it is a Fair Trade company.

It supplies a range of children’s clothes, adult shirts and accessories, which are all completely traceable, back to where the cotton was grown and the cloth and clothing was made.

They company uses handwoven denim and organic cotton, with a range of hand-printed scarves made from a soft cotton fabric, Khadi.

Sales of scarves have rocketed in recent weeks since actress Joanna Lumley wore one of the elephant prints scarves in her Joanna Lumley’s India television series.
