DOZENS of firefighters have gathered to protest against a management plan for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service which they claim could lead to redundancies.
The Essex Fire Brigades Union (FBU) representatives gathered outside County Hall in Chelmsford today as the county's fire authority met to discuss the proposals within its Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP).
The authority has said the document outlined ways to create a more efficient service and improve the use of existing resources.
But the FBU has said the plan lacked detail and was an “old fashioned cuts package.”
