The series of images, which first went on display as part of this year’s PhotoEast festival, have made their way home to Leiston for an exhibition at the Long Shop Museum until September 11.

American-born Libby Hall is also returning to talk about her work and her memories of the town, including Summerhill School, where she worked, and the Engineers Arms pub (opposite the museum), where she was a regular patron, and where most of the pictures were taken in 1966.

She will be in conversation with former Guardian picture editor, Eamonn McCabe, during a free open evening at the museum from 4.30-6.30pm on Monday.

PhotoEast director Jo Bexley said all were welcome, adding: “We would be particularly delighted for anyone who featured in, or knows others who were captured in Libby’s original photographs to attend, along with anyone who remembers drinking in the Engineers in the 1960s.

“This will be a fantastic opportunity for reminiscence as well as a bit of a masterclass for anyone interested in photography.”
