THE public has been warned about buying cheap meat after thieves raided a factory in Bury St Edmunds.

THE public has been warned about buying cheap meat after thieves raided a factory in Bury St Edmunds.

The break in at the factory in Bury happened between 12pm on Saturday and 12.30pm on Sunday.

A police spokesman described the quantity of meat taken as “large” and told how thieves had targeted the refrigerated storage units at the site.

“The meat was removed and loaded into a vehicle before the offender or offenders left. Police are asking members of the public to be aware of any 'cheap' meats being sold and from where they are buying it.”
