Rail commuters hit by delays

RAIL commuters between East Anglia and London have experienced delays and cancellations this evening.

RAIL commuters between East Anglia and London have been left frustrated tonight after trains were delayed and cancelled.

National Express East Anglia said “major signalling faults” in the Chelmsford area resulted in the problems.

Trains running between London Liverpool Street and Suffolk and Essex have been either cancelled or delayed by up to 55 minutes from mid afternoon. National Express East Anglia said tonight that the trains should be running as normal by 10.30pm.

A spokesman said: “We are sorry that passengers have had difficult journeys home. We run trains as best as we can during a period of disruption. To operate trains safely it means that they have to run more slowly.”
