TRAFFIC and trains were held up in Diss this morning after a lorry crashed into a railway bridge.
The collision happened at 9am as the lorry was travelling along Victoria Road towards Suffolk.
The back of the lorry struck the bottom of the bridge, causing no apparent damage to the structure or injury to the driver.
The crash did however cause a build up of traffic while police cleared the area.
On the rail tracks, passengers had to wait up to 45 minutes while National Express engineers checked the safety of the bridge.
Both Victoria Road and the railway line running through Diss are now clear and running smoothly.
