ESSEX: Suffolk South MP Tim Yeo had a double cause for celebration this morning.
Shortly before his count was finished at East Bergholt high school, Mr Yeo received confirmation that his chief of staff Rebecca Harris had been elected as Tory MP for Castle Point, a constituency based on Canvey Island on the north bank of the River Thames. She defeated Tory turned independent Dr Bob Spink.
