FIREFIGHTERS in Suffolk faced a busy night ahead of Christmas, tackling several blazes across the region.
FIREFIGHTERS in Suffolk faced a busy night ahead of Christmas, tackling several blazes across the region.
Two crews from Princes Street station were called to a car fire in Ellenbrook Road, Ipswich at 1.30am. Firefighters required breathing apparatus to help control the fire, which is believed to have been suspicious.
Shortly after 3.50am, a crew from Stowmarket were called to Poplar Hill where a sideboard had caught light. The fire was under control and the house made safe by around 4.30am.
At 4.13am, a crew from Halesworth and one from Stradbroke were called to the Huntingfield Arms pub where a tumble dryer had caught fire.
The fire was extinguished and the dryer removed by 4.55am.
Finally, a crew from Woodbridge attended a paper bank fire, outside Wickham Market village hall, shortly before 6am. The bank was well alight when firefighters arrived but the flames were under control by 6.18am.
