Renewed appeal following assault

POLICE are today renewing their appeal for witnesses to an assault on a young woman in Ipswich.A 20-year-old woman was found in a distressed state in Friars Street in the early hours of Sunday, July 5.

POLICE are today renewing their appeal for witnesses to an assault on a young woman in Ipswich.

A 20-year-old woman was found in a distressed state in Friars Street in the early hours of Sunday, July 5.

The victim has been interviewed, CCTV is being trawled and forensic opportunities are being explored in an attempt to establish what happened.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen a woman, either on her own or in the company of a man, on Civic Drive or Friars Street between 11.30pm on Saturday, July 4, and 1.30am on Sunday, July 5, to contact Dc Ben Hudson at Ipswich CID on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
