The Care Home Olympics are an annual six-week competition between care homes to engage resident in sporting activities.

Residents at Cornwallis Court, in Hospital Road, are taking part in games of boccia as well as fishing in the home’s lounge as part of the event, which is organised by Elatus Sports and supported by Suffolk County Council.

Alex Winter, activities coordinator, said: “Residents love getting active and the competition gives them something to look forward to.

“It is a lot of fun to take part and helps our residents keep active, trains their coordination and fine motor skills, and those with visual impairment can also get involved.”
