A Suffolk artist is marking his 70th birthday with a retrospective exhibition.
Seventy of Alan Bennett’s paintings and drawings are on display at the Halesworth Gallery until June 10.
Mr Bennett worked for almost 40 years Brunel University’s arts centre and was awarded an honorary fellowship on retirement.
The exhibition features a room mostly devoted to the Ankerwycke Yew – a tree said to have been witness to the signing of Magna Carta.
There are also portraits, landscapes, designs for murals and opera sets, and for a Chelsea Flower Show stand which won a gold medal.
