THE family of a cyclist who died in a traffic accident have paid tribute to a “kind and decent man.”
Emergency services were scrambled to Newmarket Road on Sunday afternoon after reports of a collision between a cyclist and a Nissan micra.
The cyclist, Julian Evans, was taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge but died on Monday.
The 51-year-old of Woodland Close, who was known as Jules to family and friends, had lived in Risby for 14 years. He was married with one step-daughter.
Mr Evans worked as a regional sales Manager for sia Abrasives based in West Yorkshire and had worked for company since he left school at the age of 17.
A statement from his family said; “Jules was quite simply loved and respected by everyone who came into contact with him. It is a devastating tragedy that such a special, well loved, kind and decent man has been taken from us. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed.”
Anyone who saw the incident is asked to call the serious collision investigation team at Suffolk police on 101.
