A RESCUE crew was scrambled to the River Orwell amid fears four youths had got stuck in some mud.
Thames Coastguard raised the alarm around 9.15pm yesterday after the harbour-master at Woolverstone had spotted them attempt to return ashore on “all fours”.
A team from Felixstowe Coastguard was sent to the scene, with specialist mud rescue equipment.
They carried out an extensive search of the river bank near Orwell Country Park but, apart from some tracks in the mud, nothing was found.
A spokesman for Thames Coastguard said it is believed the quartet had “made it ashore unseen”.
