Part of Stoke Road in Thorndon could be closed for up to two days after a six-inch water main burst.

The water main was repaired by Essex & Suffolk Water by 3pm today and a spokesman said no customers were without water supplies.

The burst caused damage to the road surface near the Kerrison Centre. The area is currently closed while work to resurface the road is carried out.

The Essex & Suffolk Water spokesman said the closure could stay in place until Wednesday.
