A ROUNDABOUT has reopened where the A1088 meets the A143 at Ixworth near Bury St Edmunds following a crash involving a lorry and a car this morning.

Emergency services were called at 8.20am where fire crews and police found the lorry flipped onto its side, against a telegraph pole.

Both drivers in the Vauxhall Corsa and the lorry escaped serious injury but the lorry's impact had cut power to a handful of homes.

A spokesman for EDF Energy said power was restored at 3pm today and the road was reopened shortly afterwards.
