TRAFFIC is running freely again along a section of the A12 following a crash at Martlesham Heath today.
The two elderly occupants of a Fiat Bravo, a man and a woman, are believed to have been seriously injured in the accident, in which their vehicle was in collision with an Audi A4.
Both were taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital.
The crash took place near Foxhall Road and Eagle Way shortly before noon.
The northbound carriageway was blocked for more than an hour.
A spokesman for the force appealed for witnesses to the accident to call the Roads Policing Unit on 01473 613500.
