POLICE are appealing for information after a robber pushed a woman shop worker to the floor and snatched money from a till in Frinton.

The incident happened at around 1pm yesterday at a womens' boutique in Connaught Avenue.

Officers believe the same man could be responsible for the theft of some glasses from an optician around two hours earlier and that he may have been hanging around in the area in between the two incidents.

The man was described as white, aged between 30 and 40, around 5ft 8ins tall and of fat, stocky build.

He had brown thinning hair - which made him look almost bald - and was wearing dark blue jeans with a light coloured jumper or jacket.

The woman who was pushed to the floor suffered a bump to the head but was otherwise unharmed.

Anybody with any information about the two incidents is asked to contact Det Con Steve Knight at Harwich CID on 01255 241312 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
