DRIVERS faced long delays as a tractor blowout forced a lane closure on a busy trunk road.
Police were called to a tractor and trailer which had suffered a blowout on the eastbound carriageway of the A14, just past junction 49 at Elmswell, shortly after 8.30am.
They had to close the inside lane to recover the vehicle, causing long delays for motorists driving in the direction of Stowmarket.
Tailbacks lasted throughout the rush hour and the lane was reopened by the Highways Agency by 10.30am.
