A sailor was taken off a yacht which ran aground off the Essex coast.
The 60-year-old man, who has not been named, was taken off by lifeboat and coastguard crews after his 27 foot yacht ran aground near Bradwell power station.
The West Mersea RNLI Lifeboat and Bradwell Coastguards were called to the yacht Rosiante Del Mar, which was on its way from Maldon to Lowestoft, at about 1.30pm yesterday.
They took the man, who was alone on board, to shore.
The lifeboat later returned to the yacht and towed it to Bradwell marina.
