THE greatest gift of all was given at a Christmas grotto - the gift of love.
Because after all the frenzy of the festive season in Colchester, Santa and his hard-working elf realised they wanted to spend more than just a few months of the year together - and now the happy pair are getting married.
Father Christmas Paul Drain, 27, and helpful elf Gette Nash, 32, met while working in Williams and Griffin toy department, welcoming excited youngsters into Santa's magic hideaway.
The pair first appeared as the festive characters in the department store in 2005.
Paul, who grew up in Colchester and was a student Tiffany's Stage Academy in Clacton, said: “We are looking forward to our wedding in March this year, and returning to Williams and Griffin at Christmas.”
