Saxmundham Free School welcomed guest speaker David Kogan of Magnum Photos to its event, celebrating individual achievements and all round progress. It comes after the school came in the top 5% of Suffolk schools for its Progress 8 measure.

Headteacher David Lees said it was “wonderful” to celebrate the successes, which show the school is helping “every student reach and exceed their potential, whatever their academic ability”.

“All of our year 11 students achieved their goals of progressing into further education or apprenticeships and I wish them every success for the future,” he added.

“I’d also like to thank David Kogan of Magnum Photos for joining us in our celebrations. It was great to hear inspiring tales of David’s incredible career as a journalist, managing director of global news agency Reuters and his role in launching GMTV.”

Mark Spicer received the Seckford Foundation Cup for outstanding academic performance. Lewis Pinion took The Watson Cup for exceptional progress. Visit www.saxmundhamfreeschool.org.uk for more information.
