The fun continues on Saturday at 9.30am until 1.30pm in Fromus Square, which is just off the High Street. Admission is free and there will be music, a barbecue, Punch and Judy, a bouncy castle, archery sessions and other games and stalls. Shopkeepers are also taking part in a “best dressed” window competition, with visitors encouraged to “spot the odd item”. Entry forms from HG Crisp, to be returned by April 19.

On Saturday evening there is a dinner dance in the Market Hall, starting at 7pm with food served at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15, which includes a three course meal and music from The Topless Barmaids.

Celebrations culminate on Sunday with the High Street closed to traffic from 9am to 5pm for a charity fair and pony and trap rides.
