A WOMAN is recovering in the Ipswich Hospital this morning after falling down steps near a kebab shop, in Market Place, Saxmundham.
An ambulance crew was called to the scene in an alleyway near Angel Yard, at 11.10pm last night, after reports of the woman, who is in her 50s and from Bury St Edmunds, slipping over and banging her head.
Police reported that she had been out drinking with relatives and hurt the back of her head in the fall but there are no reports of any foul play.
She stopped breathing following the fall and was given CPR treatment by people who were at the scene before the ambulance arrived and took her to the hospital, in Heath Road, suffering from head injuries.
