A SMALL fire in Needham Market Middle School means classes are cancelled for the day.
Parents who have children at the school are encouraged to pick them up today as the school has been closed due to the fire, which has caused a power cut.
The blaze broke out at 9.30am in the server cupboard. Two fire crews from Needham Market and Stowmarket attended School Street and extinguished it within minutes.
A Suffolk County Council spokeswoman said: “There is no power so the school has been closed. It will be back on tomorrow.”
Any child that cannot be collected today will be looked after at the school.
