A SUFFOLK primary school that has been closed today after gas leaks were discovered at the site will be open as usual tomorrow.

Workers were called to Combs Ford Primary School, near Stowmarket, yesterday afternoon to investigate suspected gas leaks after a fault was detected under the car park.

The decision was taken to close the school today while repair work was carried out but headteacher Russell Clark said the problems had been resolved and the site would be back to normal in the morning.

Head teacher said: “Its good news, as of 1.45pm this afternoon the gas has been restored to the school and all the leaks have been stopped.

“So the school will be open tomorrow and the two meetings planned for this evening - the staff meeting and the meeting for parents about Whitwell - will both be able to go ahead.

“We have brought in manual heaters to keep the hall warm for people so please don't worry about wrapping up.”
