A group of schoolchildren have been followed by a man in a large blue van in Brampton.

The incident took place between 12.10pm and 12.30pm on Saturday in Southwold Road.

The children had been playing on the field beside the village hall when they became aware of the van, which had the rear windows blacked-out, parked at the front of the hall.

They then left the field running back to their homes, at which point the van followed behind them at a distance.

The van stopped and the driver gestured at one of the children before driving off.

At no point did the driver attempt to speak to any of the children or get out of the van.

The driver is described as a white man, with grey curly hair and wearing glasses.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has seen a van matching this description in the area.
