It is planned to take place next month in the town at a series of locations and the initial gathering was held at The Apex.

It will become an annual event in the county and next year will be over three locations in Suffolk.

Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, February 10 and 11, there will be exhibitors at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, The Athenaeum, Moyses Hall Museum and the library and there will be a “Planet Trail” where people can get a postcard stamped and when they have visited all locations they can put their card in a draw for family prizes.

The event is being organised by Kinetic Science, which is based in Bury St Edmunds, and is a charity created to inspire and enthuse children and young people to consider a career in engineering, science and maths as well as bringing the curriculum alive, supporting teachers and allowing all to reach their potential.

It won the Raising the Bar category, at the East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards, in 2016, for recognising contributions to raising educational attainment and aspiration.
