A man exposed himself to an 18-year-old Braintree student before trying to grab her in Cressing Road.
Police have released an efit of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened at about 7.25am on Tuesday March 10.
The suspect attempted to engage an 18-year-old woman in conversation as she walked along the road near the A120 underpass and the Mulberry Tree pub.
He exposed himself to the student and then attempted to grab her, but he left when she remonstrated with him.
The man is described as white, aged in his late 20s, and about 5ft 9ins tall.
He had short curly brown hair, was of medium build, and wore a grey hooded sweatshirt .
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Grant Snow at Braintree police station on 101.
