Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an incident on the A1088 at Fakenham Magna, near Thetford, on Sunday morning.

At 9.45am, a report was received concerning a woman in a distressed state at the side of the road.

Police attended and conducted a search of the area, including Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue and the police helicopter, but found no trace of the woman.

She was described as white, in her mid to late 20s, about 5ft 5in, of slim build, with blonde shoulder-length dreadlocks.

She was reportedly speaking with a man with a beard in a silver car, described as an old silver five-seater hatchback.

Police are concerned for the woman’s welfare and want to speak to anyone with any knowledge of the incident, who travelled along the A1088 at Fakenham Magna at about 9.30am, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the road at that time.
