Two people have been arrested and released on bail following a ram raid in Sudbury.

A London man, 27, arrested in connection with the burglary on Tuesday in Northern Road where an ATM was stolen, has been released on police bail until April 12.

A second woman, aged 25 and from Benfleet, has also been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed until the same date.

The cashpoint, which was empty when it was taken, was recovered in Maldon, later the same day.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Northern Road area around 2–3am on Tuesday should call Suffolk police on 101.
