A second teenager has been arrested by police investigating a fatal road accident that killed a 61-year-old woman.

OFFICERS are renewing appeals for information following a fatal road accident that killed a 61-year-old woman.

Carol Ann Myhill died after a silver/grey Vauxhall Astra collided with her as she pushed her pedal cycle along the pavement in Victoria Road, Aldeburgh, just before 11pm on Wednesday, February 25.

An 18-year-old man from Leiston was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed to return to Lowestoft Police Station on March 30.

A second male - a 17-year-old boy from the Theberton area - has also now been detained in connection with the incident.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have seen a silver/grey Vauxhall Astra or a blue/green Fiat Bravo being driven in the area to come forward.

A spokeswoman said: “If you were in the town around this time - either walking or driving - and saw the vehicles police would like to hear from you.”
