Thousands of budding historians visited Framlingham Castle over the bank holiday weekend to experience life in the Middle Ages.
The Medieval Festival ran from Saturday to Monday and featured ‘sword school’ for children and talks and demonstrations led by costumed characters from the period.
Kirstie Horne, site manager at Framlingham Castle: “We had a spectacular bank holiday weekend welcoming thousands of visitors to our Medieval Festival event over the three days.
“The weather was in our favour, bringing out plenty of families with their children armed and ready for battle.
“The event was a huge success with displays from our Medieval fighting knights, Sir Jay and Sir Phil, who explained the techniques of battle and sword fighting.”
She urged people to keep an eye out for the castle’s summer programme, which will include a Medieval joust and a Norman siege.
