An 18-year-old motorcyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash on Halstead’s High Street.

Police were called by the ambulance service just before 8.30pm this evening, Friday, September 21, after receiving reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a van on the A131.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man, has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.”

He added that no arrests had been made and that a police investigation was ongoing.

The road is currently closed both ways from the A1124 Colchester Road to The Centre which is affecting traffic between Braintree and Sudbury.
