A large-scale fire has broken out in Brightwell, with ten vehicles sent to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters were called at shortly after 4.30pm today to reports of a blaze in Brightwell, just east of Ipswich.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said a bailer – a specialist piece of farm equipment – had caught fire on the field.
Eight fire engines plus two specialist vehicles were called to the scene, including two from Princes Street, one from Holbrook, one from Hadleigh, two from Ipswich East, one from Woodbridge, one from Leiston, and one from Long Melford.
The vehicles used to tackle the blaze included a water bowser, which the spokesperson described as “like a swimming pool on wheels” – used to transfer large amounts of water to the scene.
A stop was called on the incident at shortly before 5.45pm.
