SEVEN people have been arrested in connection with an investigation into the supply of class A drugs in Ipswich.
The five men and two women were arrested after officers from the Ipswich Area Support Team and Suffolk Police headquarters seized hundreds of wraps of class A drugs, with an estimated street value of £15,000, as well as £6,000 cash during searches at addresses in Colchester.
The teams travelled to Colchester on Monday to execute a warrant at properties in Eight Acre Lane and Holman Crescent.
Two men - 26-year-old Paul Simmonds, of Eight Acre Lane in Colchester and 43-year-old Simon Mamo, of Adams Place in Kesgrave - have both been charged with conspiracy to supply the class A drugs heroin and crack cocaine. They were due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning.
Five others - a 30-year-old woman from London, a 37-year-old woman from Ipswich, a 35-year-old man from Ipswich, a 29-year-old man from London and a 15-year-old boy from London - have been bailed to return to Ipswich Police Station on July 18.
