The A145 near Beccles has reopened after a diesel spill closed the road earlier this morning.

Several cars were involved in two separate crashes on London Road, between Beccles and Weston.

The first crash happened shortly before 7am this morning, with a Renault Clio and a Mazda colliding.

Both cars were completely written off, but no one was seriously hurt.

Police said diesel spilled along the southbound carriageway following the collision, all the way into the town centre.

The road was blocked while the spill was cleared up and the cars were recovered. At 8.20am another car was involved in a single vehicle crash with a telegraph pole, with the pole brought to the ground.

The crash also happened on London Road.

A police spokesman said the road was cleared and reopened at around 9.30am.
