FIRE crews used hydraulic equipment to lift a horse stuck in a cattle grid this afternoon.
One crew from Long Melford and a rescue vehicle from Bury St Edmunds were mobilised to Chadacre Hall in Shimpling after they received a call shortly before 1.30pm.
Firefighters began using hydraulic spreaders to try and release the horse that had two legs stuck through the grid. They then used additional hydraulic rescue equipment and a horse strap to lift the horse free.
The horse was released by the fire crew by 2.13pm.
