The event at West Suffolk Hospital on Thursday saw staff from a range of departments and disciplines recognised for their dedication, and long service awards were also presented. Diane Hele, from the central delivery suite, and Catherine Turner, from the cardiac care unit, have each clocked up 40 years.

Roger Quince, chairman of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This year, we received a huge number of nominations for individuals and teams who have worked hard to put patients first, both within the hospital and at our outreach clinics in the community. My congratulations go to these staff, who have maintained a constant focus on delivering the best possible care with compassion and kindness.”

He said as well as showing dedication to patients they had also been hugely supportive of colleagues.
