A CYCLIST has died after colliding with a car last night.

Emergency services were called to Swan Street, Sible Hedingham, near to the junction with Cambridge Road at around 9pm.

The male cyclist, aged 23 and from the local area, was travelling towards Halstead when he was in collision with a Ford Fiesta being driven by a 20-year-old-man who was travelling in the same direction.

Ambulance crews treated him at the scene before he was taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford in a critical condition but sadly died this morning. His family were at his bedside.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident and anyone with information is asked to telephone the Serious Collision Investigation unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.
