Trains on the east Suffolk line are running an hour late following a signalling failure.

Abellio Greater Anglia said there had been a fault with the signalling system earlier today between Westerfield and Ipswich, but the line is now reopen.

However, train services between Ipswich and Lowestoft, via Saxmundham and Beccles may be delayed by up to 60 minutes or the timetable revised. Disruption is expected until about 2pm.

A spokesman said: 'Network Rail technicians are at the location of the fault and are working as fast as possible to fix the fault.

'The 10.07am Lowestoft to Ipswich and 11.17am Ipswich to Lowestoft services are the first trains affected by this problem.

'The 11.17am to Lowestoft is now 60 minutes late and will terminate at Beccles. The 1.07pm Lowestoft to Ipswich will start from Beccles, with a delay.'
