A Suffolk choir’s annual summer concert has raised hundreds of pounds to help Parkinson’s sufferers
Sing Out Yoxford performed to around 120 people at St Peter’s Church in the village recently, raising a total of £657 for Parkinson’s UK.
Songs included popular pieces by the likes of Sting, Billy Joel as well as the late Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.
“It was fantastic,” said a choir spokesman.
“We have over 100 people in attendance and we were asked to give an encore.
“We had solos and duets – it was just fabulous.”
The choir has been going for just over three years, however it is said to have become more “professional” since the appointment of renowned musician Gretel Dowdeswell as musical director.
