Isaac Calver, 19, of St Helens Street in Ipswich, and Leon Alexander Glasgow, 41, of no fixed abode, are the two latest people to be charged with murder after Mr Spencer-Aitkens died from a stab wound on June 2.

Calver appeared by video link from Suffolk Constabulary headquarters in Martlesham wearing a white t-shirt and black trousers.

Glasgow appeared in person wearing a great sweatshirt and trousers at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court, Ipswich, with his solicitor Sue Threadkell.

Both spoke only to confirm their name, age, nationality and that they understood the charges against them.

Neither were granted bail and have been remanded in custody until the plea hearing at 10am in Ipswich Crown Court.

Aristote Yenge, 22, of no fixed abode, Adebayo Amusa, 19, of Sovereign Road in Barking, Callum Plaats, 23, of Findell Drive in Bramford, and a 16-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons have also been charged with murder.

All six people have been charged with acting together in the murder of Mr Spencer-Aitkens, of Pownall Road, Ipswich.

Mr Spencer-Aitkens, aged 17, was attacked by a group of males at around 4.50pm on Saturday, June 2, in Packard Avenue, during which he suffered a fatal wound.

The 17-year-old’s funeral also attracted hundreds of people wishing to pay their respects to the local young man.

A post mortem examination has begun and provisional observations made, but the inquest into his death has been adjourned as a result of the ongoing criminal proceedings.

Mr Spencer-Aitken’s mother and step-mother have worked to bring about change in the Nacton area of Ipswich since he died.

Campaigns to prevent knife crime and to give young people in Ipswich more opportunities, particularly during the summer holidays, have also been launched by Ipswich Borough Council.

The Nansen Road Community Centre opened at the start of the summer, providing a space for families and young people to get support and use the space as a chance to study quietly.
