Staff and youngsters at Small World Kindergarten in Anglesea Road, Ipswich, have celebrated an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating just two years after its new owner took over.

Assessed on August 15 by inspector Gill Thornton, the nursery was judged to be outstanding in all areas and highlighted that “since taking over the nursery, the new owner has worked tirelessly with her staff team to achieve her vision of creating the highest quality provision.”

“The well-qualified team work together very effectively to continually evaluate and identify meaningful ways to drive forward further improvement,” and added that “excellent systems are in place to observe, monitor and track children’s progress.”

Delighted owner Emma White said: “I am absolutely overwhelmed, we have been working hard to update the nursery over the last 24 months.”

Mrs White puts the nursery’s success down to “a fantastic team with many years of experience, sharing their knowledge to make a welcoming nursery experience for both parents and children.”

She added: “I take pride in the fact we are a small nursery where we care about getting to know our children and following their progress within a nurturing environment.” Other aspects of the nursery’s teaching which were praised included work on language skills, social development, and online assessments for each child’s progress.
