MORNING commuters had a relatively pain-free start to their days.

There were delays on the eastbound A14 near Stowmarket shortly around 7.45am, when a car collided with a lorry. Police said traffic was held up for 30 minutes while the carriageway near Creeting St Peter was cleared. No-one was injured in the incident.

However there were no major delays reported on the region’s roads or rail networks during the rush hour.

A couple of train services were cancelled, due to “earlier train faults”. They were the 6.44am Lowestoft to Ipswich and 6.40am Great Yarmouth to London Liverpool Street services.
