New tenants of affordable homes in Suffolk picked up the keys to their properties after a three-way partnership made the project possible.
The East of England Co-op, Orwell Housing Association and developer Hopkins & Moore joined forces to build, buy and lease eight new homes in an effort to address the need for housing and keep local families in Snape.
The homes, in Pryor Close, were built as part of Hopkins & Moore’s St Benedicts Place development. In December, the Co-op bought the properties and leased them to Orwell Housing for rental to those on the local housing register.
Snape Parish Council named the street Pryor Close in memory of John Pryor, who served his community as a parish councillor and volunteer for more than 30 years.
Nick Denny, Co-op property executive, said that buying the homes had secured affordable housing for the parish and allowed the Co-op to extend its property portfolio.
