PUPILS and staff are making a final push to pave the way for a new classroom

Snape Community Primary School is now more than three quarters of the way to the £88,000 needed.

To help boost funds it will be holding a special heritage weekend on April 27 and 28.

The whole community are invited - not just former students - and youngsters are now trying to find the oldest ex-pupil and the ex-pupil who lives the furthest from Snape.

Headtaecher Angela Sinner said: “The children have been researching the old school log books, maps and globes. If anyone thinks they know who the oldest or most distant person is, please contact the school. It would be great to see who we can find.”

The heritage weekend will include displays of children’s work, exhibitions of school photos and artefacts from 1905 - when the school was first built - to the present day, performances by the children, refreshments and music.

The school will be open to visitors from 11am to 5pm on both days. People also have the chance to sponsor a brick for the new classroom or sign up to become a friend of the school. Call the school on 01728 688373 or email ad.snape.p@talk21.com for details.
