AN arson probe is under way today after a sofa fire in an Ipswich street spread to a nearby house.
Two fire crews were called to Kenyon Street, off Wherstead Road, at just after 10pm yesterday.
A pair of settees waiting for collection had been set alight and the flames smashed a window of a nearby end-terrace home, spreading the blaze into the front room.
Police officers were called as the fire was believed to have been started deliberately.
It is not thought that anyone was hurt in the fire, which was under control by 10.40pm.
