Colchester Garrison turned into a classroom as youngsters learnt about flight.
The year two class from Roach Vale Primary School watched troops do parachute training and climbed aboard a Dakota plane.
Teacher Rebecca Webster said: “The children really enjoyed the experience. To see how flight is relevant to the Army really brought to life what we’ve been doing in the classroom.”
Warrant Officer Class 1 Jim Tallon, event organiser, added: “To explain flight and how it is important to us made a different day for all involved.”
