A Suffolk sports team handed over proceeds of a second year’s fundraising for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Events staged by Leiston FC and Leiston Town Athletic Association (LTAA) in the last 12 months included the inaugural Ladies Charity Night.

Club members handed over a £650 cheque to EACH fundraiser, Gemma Smith, who had shown everyone round the Treehouse in Ipswich, explaining how the cash will be spent. She said the donation would make a “huge difference” to the care and support provided at the Treehouse and in families’ homes across Suffolk.

Centre half, Joe Jefford, was accompanied by wife Amy, who modelled at the Ladies Charity Night fashion show. He said the club was looking forward to supporting EACH further with future fundraising activities.
